Paul was recruited to write for its Mandrake column, which covered the arts and political gossip. It suited him. The job was part-time during a period when Paul was extremely busy writing books.
First appearing in 1961, the Sunday Telegraph was the sister paper to the Daily Telegraph which was founded in 1855 and has always been, and continues to be, a conservative paper.
