A national daily tabloid newspaper. Founded in 1903, it is part of Mirror Group Newspapers, which is owned by parent company Reach plc.

1979 columnist and leader writer

Paul was invited to join the Mirror to write a weekly investigative column soon after Margaret Thatcher became Prime Minister in 1979. He was chuffed to be asked. This was, at the time, Britain’s largest circulation tabloid newspaper (it was just beginning to lose out to Murdoch’s Sun) with a print run in the millions, and a vast working-class readership.
