A daily newspaper. It was founded in Manchester in 1821 as The Manchester Guardian and changed its name in 1959, followed by a move to London.

1993 columnist 

Paul wrote a regular column. It would appear once a fortnight, and he had the freedom to write 800 words about whatever he wanted, with the usual caveats about not using it as a space to promote the SWP. Sometimes he chose one topic, but mostly there were two or three short pieces, and a quite amazing amount of poetry.
