When Paul joined the International Socialists it printed – and Paul was soon editing – a monthly paper called Industrial Worker. In 1968 it changed its name to Socialist Worker and started appearing weekly, and some years later the organisation too changed its name to the Socialist Workers Party. Paul was persuaded to join the staff of the paper in the heady political days of 1974. He briefly edited the paper in 1975 and worked there until 1978. After he left, he continued to write for the paper for the rest of his life.
